Have you ever thought to color your hair with chalk? You know, colored chalk your 5th grade teacher used to use on chalk boards? I sure have not, however apparently someone thought this could be a cool way to temporarily color their hair, and they were actually right! Hair product companies started catching on to this craze and decided to create their own version of a hair chalk, which I love. Condition Culture, the creators of the original feather hair extension Featherlocks, is one of those companies on the cutting edge. Their version of chalk, specially made for hair, is called COLORSMASH, and it’s referred to as a hair shadow, which sounds much prettier.
COLORSMASH doesn’t come out until the end of May and Condition Culture will be officially launching the line at the Orlando Premiere show June 3rd and 4th, but I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of their most gorgeous hair shadows. Unlike art pastels (chalk), COLORSMASH contains no chemicals, so that is awesome. It’s easy to use, and the color looks amazing on all hair colors. You literally rub it onto your hair, comb it through, and wala! To set the powder, spray some hairspray on the hair and seal it with a curling or flat iron. Remember this is temporary, so it will wash out in an instant, or fade away on it’s own.
Love this idea of a temporary way to add sassy colors to your hair? Read this important info:
– Hair shadow can be messy! Avoid wearing a white shirt while rocking the shadow. And if you have white pillow cases, well… let’s just say you may need to wash them after sleeping on them.
– Wear gloves when applying. If you don’t you will look like you were playing in makeup. Good thing is it washes off if you make a mess though.
– If the color looks too bright for your taste, keep combing through it and it will soften the tone of the color.
– You can now purchase COLORSMASH online and keep up with them on Facebook!
