A-Line With a Fringe
“It’s an a-line layered bob with a fringe,” says hairstylist and salon owner Sonia Yarkhani of Ontario.
To style it into the straight, sleek look, Yarkhani used Kevin Murphy Smooth.Again.
Cuts like this are ideal for women with medium-density hair, a petite face, and a long neck. The ideal hair texture can be slightly wavy or straight. This type of haircut could be worn on women with curly hair, but it would need more layers.
Chin-Length Chic Haircut
All that it takes are shadow root and textured bob to ginger up your look. Here’s a chin-length, chic haircut that uplifts the shape and dimension of your blonde mane.
Short Angled Haircut with Wavy Stacked Layers
Short angled haircuts with wavy, stacked layers, and style take a simple cut up a level. Creating dimension with highlights and lowlights also helps create thickness in hair that may need a little help looking fuller. A styling cream after curling helps smooth and define the curls to create the perfect hairstyle.
Comb Over Bob Cut
A comb-over bob cut is a great way to add height to the front of your hair. A low part can really help give you that lift. If one side doesn’t work, try parting on the opposite side. Sometimes one side gives more lift than the other. Either way, this bob is a keeper.
Edgy French Crop Haircut for Women
Kick your black short hair up a notch and try an edgy French crop haircut for women. This type of haircut is shaved with clippers all around the back and sides. A strong weight line emboldens around the head. Style with pomade and combat boots.
Airy Voluminous Bob for Thick Hair
To achieve an airy voluminous bob for thick hair there should be some layering, but not too short. Leaving the layers longer creates the perfect shape, which is flatness in the crown and fullness everywhere else. Women with really thick hair can benefit from a bit of thinning shear as well. Blowdry this style with a 1 1/2 inch metal barrel round brush and some mousse for bouncy waves.
Short Pixie with Spiky Hair on Top
A short pixie with spiky hair on top is the perfect choice for women looking for a no-fuss hairstyle. Stylish and versatile, it can be worn flat or spiky. A pixie works great on fine hair. If you have thick hair you will have to ask your stylist for texture to create pieciness.
Shaggy Lob Cut
A shaggy lob cut is a fun low maintenance style. Medium layering gives this look its messiness. If you have some movement to your hair, styling will be a breeze. Apply some gel and let it dry. If you have pin-straight hair you will have to curl it with an iron to create a messy look.
The Classic French Bob
A classic French bob is a chic look that hits at the jawline and really elongates the neck. It’s styled with a fringe to conceal a large forehead. What a timeless look that can be worn curly or straight, by women of any age. It’s fairly low-maintenance, so expect to get a trim about every 5-6 weeks.
Effortless Layered Bob Cut
Let go of your basic long tresses and have a new chop that sits above your shoulders. This effortlessly layered bob with long side bangs is great for your transformation. The layered haircut is asymmetrical that works well with subtle waves on your blonde balayage.
Easy Layers on Longer Hair
These easy layers form a natural-looking volume that appears so soft with beach waves. Aside from extra style, they take out some weight from your thick, brown locks not to make it look heavy. Parting your long hair in the middle will frame your facial features for a dramatic effect. This haircut looks cute with a top knot.
Super Sleek A-line
This is a classic, modern a-line bob. The timeless cut was created by stylist Pedro of Chicago, IL.
“Cuts like this suit almost all women with any hair type with some customization,” says Pedro. “I would advise the length choice be dependent on how often the client wears their hair up and their lifestyle.”
Pedro says styling is quite universal as this look works air dried, blow-dried, flat ironed, diffused, curled, etc. “I would recommend a spray shine to achieve the sleek look in the photo, a pomade for a wavy look, a root-booster for more fullness, and a light serum for the crisp ends.”
Cool Mid-Length Hair in Textured Wavy Lob Style
Go for tousled wavy hair that looks elegant and effortless at the same time. It was created by barber and stylist Sarah Simon of Littleton, CO.
“This tousled lob is incredibly versatile and works both as a dressed-down look or styled for an evening event,” says Simon.
If you don’t want to spend time blowdrying to style, Simon says you can achieve a similar look by letting your hair air dry, then curl it with a curling iron. “The style wouldn’t look as polished but would still be dimensional and flattering,” she adds. “Always use some kind of texture spray or wax to help grit up this style. The nice thing about using a texture spray is that you can spruce up your hair the next day and not feel obligated to wash it because this style isn’t supposed to be perfect.”
Long, Luscious Layers
These long, luscious layers were created by hair artist and salon owner Matthew Ingraldi of Ontario.
“The modern shag is what we call a ‘wash and wear’ look,” says Ingraldi. “Its shape, the shaggy layers, and longer hair length allow the tresses to fall naturally. The layers create a quantity of natural texture, volume, body, and fullness throughout the hair as each layer falls on the next layer.”
“If a woman sat in my chair and asked me for this haircut I would explain to them the versatility of the look. How it can complement a long face shape by lifting it with layers, to a round face shape by elongating it with length,” he explains.
Fun Haircut with a Little Edge
“The sandy yet golden tonality of the highlights on top of the golden brown base complements each other while adding dimension to this traditional layered cut,” explains hairstylist Raychel Ryckman-Martino of New York.
What she likes most about this style is the ease and versatility that comes with it. “The bold fringe we have added makes her hair look completely styled even when in a simple ponytail. This cut is great for new moms and women on the go that still want to look sexy” says Ryckman-Martino.
This soft, flowing, full-bodied hairstyle with the right dimensional color would be great for almost any type of hair, at any age. For work or for play, up or down, this is a simple yet unforgettable style that will complement almost any woman.
Seamless & Trendy Hair
This seamless, trendy, and classy look was created by hairstylist Dmitry of San Francisco, CA.
“The benefit is that you can have this hairstyle for a while without worrying about monthly appointments for touch-ups,” says Dmitry.
“This hairstyle looks great with long bangs,” he adds. “You can also make beachy waves and it will look just as perfect as straight hair. I recommend using a moisturizing cream, some dry oil on the ends, and flat iron to emphasize the dying technique.”
Modern Texture with a Side Part
“This is a very modern hairstyle with soft waves and texture. The fringe is long and provides a sexy finish to the look,” explains hairstylist Denis of Russia.
“This textured haircut works great for fine to medium and long hair types and works well on all face shapes,” she adds. “The hair was cut to one length with some frontal graduation and intensive texturizing.”
To style, Denis says to apply thermal protection on the lengths and ends of the hair and a volumizing product at the roots. “Tilt the head down and dry hair quickly from roots to ends. Create soft waves with the styler of your choice, then mess the hair up a bit with your fingers to finish the look.”
Short, Sassy & Sexy Hair
This short hair is sleek, sassy, and sexy all rolled into one! It was created by hairstylist Shawni Fronk of Odgen, UT.
“This is the perfect look for a woman who isn’t afraid to be a little bold,” says Fronk. “It works great for anyone who is short on time when getting ready. All you need is Jackpot from R+Co, or any other styling cream that has structure. Blowdry the hair into the shape you want, then spray a little texture spray and you are good to go!”
Short haircuts such as this are perfect for straight hair. Fine or dense hair works great, you just need the right amount of texture cut into it. This cut is not ideal for overly curly locks.
Dimensional & Trendy Hairstyle
This look is dimensional and trendy. It features different tones, an undone feel, and was created by master hairstylist Atlee Gray of Ohio.
“The dimension provides a low maintenance look while adding long layers gives texture and movement,” says Gray.
To style, Gray used a 1-inch curling iron to curl all over, then flat ironed the ends to give that beachy look. “I finished with a texture spray to break up the curls,” she adds.
Chic Modern Bob
This chic modern bob was created by hairstylist Jade Segal of Santa Monica, CA. “The greatest thing about it is how easy it is to style. You get great versatility out of it because it has all the fun of a short haircut, but it has just enough length to wear it in various upstyles,” says Segal.
This look is flattering with several face shapes, depending on length, but is especially flattering to round face shapes when the front is kept long enough to hit the collarbone. It’s easy to style due to the length and can be worn both straight and curly.
If you’re looking to change up your style and don’t want a haircut that’s hard to manage, Segal says “take the plunge and chop it short. Also, this is a great in-between haircut if you have long hair and you’re thinking of going pixie length.”
Laid Back Yet Polished Medium-Length Hair
This is laid back, yet polished medium-length hair. It was created by Sarah Styles, an associate stylist in Hudson, MA.
“We decided to keep the layers on the medium to long side,” explains Styles. “I also kept the angle around her face a little longer, starting after the chin. Then we used loose curls to create more of a face-framing effect.”
Styles believes this haircut is pretty versatile and translates well with most face shapes.
